Library’s Den
From Dragons' Den to Library's Den
The funny and humble stories behind the national show that changed so many entrepreneurs’ destinies — and how its stars are still refining their pitches today. Raw, real and incredibly gorgeous insights from Olivia Fazekas, Toni Francis and Julie Cole, LLB, MA.
Last night at the Library's Den event hosted by Toronto Public Library - North York Central Library, I had the chance to hear firsthand what really happens behind Canada's most iconic entrepreneurship show.
Olivia shared how she was “so high — higher than her wedding day — and at the same time so low” during her pitch. She’s still refining her pitch today, proving that the work continues long after the cameras stop.
Toni reminded us that success on Dragons' Den isn’t about being the loudest — it’s about letting your personality shine. And she gave so many real, behind-the-scenes insights that every founder wished they had known earlier.
I also had the chance to pitch P-Duplex, and I’m truly grateful for the feedback and compliments from the panel. We stayed until the lights dimmed at closing time — because moments like these are worth absorbing fully.
Our goal: Dragons' Den in 12 months.
Not for fame — but for the opportunity to reach Canadians nationwide and unlock the partnerships that will help sustainable food packaging scale faster.
Huge thanks to @Toronto Public Library - North York Central Library for organizing such an inspiring event. 🙏
